Randy Arozarena: A Cuban-born MLB Outfielder
Early Life and Career
Randy Arozarena was born in Cuba on February 28, 1995. He played in the Cuban National Series before defecting to Mexico in 2015. Arozarena signed with the St. Louis Cardinals organization in 2016 and made his MLB debut in 2019.
2020 Season
Arozarena had a breakout 2020 season with the Tampa Bay Rays. He appeared in 151 games and made 149 starts, primarily as a left fielder. He was one of only five Rays players to remain on the active roster for the entire season.
2021 Season and Beyond
Arozarena was traded to the Seattle Mariners in 2021. He has continued to be a productive outfielder, known for his speed and defensive skills. In 2022, he was selected to his first All-Star Game.
