Borderlands 4 is Very Much in Development, Says Gearbox Founder

Randy Pitchford dropped a hint during an interview.

It has been five years since Borderlands 3 hit the shelves, and it seems that we may be returning to the world of Pandora sooner than expected.

In an interview with IGN to talk about the upcoming Borderlands movie, Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford dropped a major hint about a new installment in the popular looter-shooter series.

When asked about the possibility of Borderlands 4, Pitchford said, "I think it's fair to say that we will do another Borderlands game." He added, "I don't know when that will be, but I think it's fair to say that we will do another Borderlands game."

This is the first time that Gearbox has officially confirmed that Borderlands 4 is in development. However, it doesn't come as much of a surprise, as the series is one of the most popular looter-shooters on the market.

Seeing as it has been another half-decade since that third mainline Borderlands game hit consoles, a Borderlands 4 announcement could be right around the corner. It doesnt come as much of a surprise to see that there isnt actually any footage of Borderlands 4 what with it still being under the veil.

We may be going back to the world of Pandora sooner than expected. Info is scarce but we know that Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Edgar Ramírez, and Ariana Greenblatt will be starring in the upcoming movie, which is set to release in 2022.
